  • Trouble shoots, repairs and maintains production and production supporting equipment with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanic components.
  • Maintains facilities.
  • Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures Responsible for looking at new ways to improve safety, quality and productivity.
  • Troubleshoot and maintains production equipment which includes hydraulic, mechanic and pneumatic systems.
  • Repair and replaces hydraulic, mechanic, and pneumatic components such as cylinders, pumps, hydr. motors, valves, pipes, hoses, filters, gearboxes, bearing assemblies, etc.
  • Set up and operate toolroom machines such as lathe, milling machine, grinder, etc.
  • Manufacture parts with these machines to close tolerances.
  • Fabricate frames, platforms and other structural components by utilizing Mig, Tig and Arc welding equipment.
  • Perform basic electrical trouble shooting tasks and is familiar with changing fuses and electrical switches.
  • Improve hydraulic circuits and systems in regards to stoppage of leaks, cleanliness of hydr. oil, replacement of untidy pipes and hoses, etc.
  • Pass information, experiences and knowledge to colleagues in regards to repair jobs, preventive maintenance, problem symptoms; i.e. what he/she got involved with during their shift.
  • Listen to information, experiences and knowledge passed on by previous shift maintenance employees, to ensure effective, non-repetitious problem solving and machine repair.
  • Update hydraulic, mechanic and pneumatic circuit diagrams of existing production equipment if any changes are made to the design.
  • Help to maintain adequate hydraulic, mechanic and pneumatic spare part inventory levels in stock room.
  • Select and specifies hydraulic, mechanic and pneumatic components for purchasing purpose.
  • Maintain and take ownership in work order and preventive/predictive maintenance system by filling in the required forms.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment as outlined in the individual TS16949 work instructions.
  • Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by the maintenance manager.
  • Ensure work area and machines are kept clean, organized and tidy at all times.
  • Store equipment and tools properly when not in use.
  • Inform the supervisor to the best of his ability about unusual things, faulty design, unsafe conditions, missing parts, etc.
  • Work in a cost effective manner and maintains a high standard of quality and excellent workmanship.
  • Adhere to the standards and rules described in the Employee Handbook.
  • Open to new systems which are occasionally established within the department and company.
  • Conduct in a manner consistent with those practices leading to the safe operation of the division and displaying leadership, concern and a safe work ethic.
  • Perform other duties as required within his/her abilities.


  • Licensed Millwright. Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical theory for CNC machines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with internal/external customers; i.e. strong communication skills.
  • Work Experience A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Millwright in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Skills and Competencies Ability to use mig, tig, and arc welding equipment.
  • Ability to use milling machine, lathe, and grinder.
  • Ability to perform basic pipe and hose installations.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting such as changing fuses and switches – only on 120V or 24V circuit but not on voltages 575V.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
