Design Group Staffing is currently seeking an Engineering Manager for our client based in Calgary, AB.

 

Responsibilities:

 

        
  • Review, implement and maintain engineering policies, standards, procedures and the Quality Management program
  •     
  • Reviewing and approving manpower requirements and exercising management direction with respect to selection, appraisal and training of staff
  •     
  • Thorough knowledge of workforce planning and resource management as it pertains to project needs
  •     
  • Leading and/or providing expert level technical knowledge and guidance in the design and delivery of highly complex technical issues
  •     
  • Senior level internal and external customer engagement
  •     
  • Expert knowledge/understanding of overall project/business processesPrimarily responsible for controlling design to meet all requirements with respect to cost, time and quality as it applies to both the engineered design and the resultant constructed plants
  •     
  • Provide oversight and key input into the development of the DBM, PEP, and CEP
  •     
  • Key liaison between the PMT and Owner's Technical Services Team
  •     
  • Provide oversight and key input into cost savings initiatives as they apply to alternative design solutions or differing execution strategies
  •     
  • Manage PMT Project Engineers to ensure vendor shop surveillance is being properly executed such that packages are being assembled based upon the budgeted plan
 

Qualifications:

 

        
  • Registered P. Eng designation with APEGA
  •     
  • B. Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering including extensive demonstrated experience in a project engineering leadership position managing over all engineering
  •     
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and leadership skills
  •     
  • The ability to analyze complex priority issues and synthesize the information to make timely decisions that respond to short term and long-term challenges and opportunities
  •     
  • The ability to deal with conflict and resolve problems efficiently
  •     
  • An understanding off the development, application and review of annual performance objectives for employees
  •     
  • Aptitude and communications skills related to leading and acting independently in a senior managerial role
  •     
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate, lead and manage change
