Our client in Toronto is seeking a Manager of Internal Controls. The Manager, Internal Controls will provide leadership and coordination of the company’s internal control documentation, testing, reporting and recommend remediation where required; ensuring that company procedures conform to compliance standards such as CEO/ CFO certification and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). The ideal candidate would oversee the internal controls structure and will play an active role across the business to streamline processes to create reliable and timely delivery of financial reporting information. Key Responsibilities would include:


* Preparation of documentation and reports to ensure that the Company meets all regulatory compliance and accounting guidelines through processes, policies and standards
* Implementation and management of internal controls with respect to financial reporting policies, processes and procedures
* Documentation of control processes to identify any gaps in best practice and, where necessary recommend remediation plans for control deficiencies
* Develop, maintain and coordinate Global internal control policies providing guidance and support for internal control issues
* Review key risks and identify opportunities for risk mitigation

Requirements

Key Requirements:


* Would require a Canadian designation - CPA, CA, CGA, CMA
* Need to possess experience with US publicly listed companies
* Would require SOX experience
* Would require solid presentation and communication skills.
