Talentcor is seeking an entry level Maintenance Helper to work for a our client at Courtneypark and McLaughlin. This is initially a contract position with a high possibility of converting to permanent employment for the right candidate.

We are currently looking for an individual who is a self-starter and is not afraid to get their hands dirty to join our client’s Maintenance Team! Due to the nature of the business alternative days or hours may be required.


•         Maintain area cleanliness of all forklift batteries, material handling equipment and personnel lifts

•         Replace baler wire as necessary on the plastic baler/cardboard compactor in the Distribution Centre

•         Inspect and replace fluorescent and iridescent light bulbs throughout the Distribution Centre and Office locations

•         General painting and spackling when necessary

•         Moving and assembling office furniture, fixtures and cubicles required

•         Provide basic restroom and café/office maintenance

•         Maintain warehouse floor sweeping and washing standards on a daily basis

•         Mounting fixtures and hanging picture frames throughout facility

•         Perform occasional project cleaning such as rug shampooing, window cleaning, buffing floors, wall washing and cleaning of baseboards.

•         Daily restroom cleaning, wiping and mopping using cleaning supplies, including floors, toilets, mirrors, sinks and stall partitions

•         Clean and maintain water coolers throughout the Distribution Centre

•         Control and track janitorial consumables

•         Report to work early on inclement weather days to remove snow and ice from sidewalks and steps to facility.  Maintain this activity throughout the day when necessary

•         Assist the Maintenance Associate in conveyor repairs when necessary

•         Assist in setup of occasional  sponsored events

•         Assist in any Material Handling activities when required

•         Maintain a safe and clean work environment

•         Perform other duties as assigned

•         High School education or equivalent

•         Previous hand/power tool operation experience preferred.  Training for use of these items will be required once in the position.

•         Additional training on maintenance related equipment will be supplied once in the position (as necessary).

•         Strong English skills (written/spoken)

•         Ability to lift cartons or bins repetitively that weigh up to 50 lbs.

•         Manual dexterity is required

•         Ability to work and frequently move throughout platform areas up to 20 feet above ground level

•         Ability to frequently climb up stairs to reach picking locations

•         Must be adaptable to change by working within different departments

•         Must be able to fill out paperwork and forms neatly and accurately

SHIFT: Monday to Thursday 6am-430pm

PAY RATE: $17.01 to start
