Our client an Engineering Procurement Construction firm, located in Mississauga in the Oil & Gas industry is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer for a Permanent Role. Candidates must have their P.Eng Designation with over 10+ years of experience in EPC or EPCM environment. Oil & Gas preferred.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interface with a project team or directly with the client to develop functional requirements and assess required project deliverables.
  • Responsible to develop/define the scope of work, budget and schedule and work with a team to deliver on scope/schedule/budget.
  • Prepare, participate in or supervise preparation of I&C design deliverables including datasheets, Narratives, C&E Diagrams, P&IDs, plot plans, control schematics, control panel design, cable/conduit/tray routing
  • Participate in project meetings between engineering, project management, operations and client.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

  • General supervision from I&E Section Head

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors in Engineering and a P.Eng designation
  • 10+ years of experience in I&C engineering with at least 5 years of industrial experience in an EPC or EPCM environment.
  • Experience in Oil and Gas and Chemical facilities and strong understanding of working in Hazardous Locations
  • Experience managing small teams of engineers/designers/drafters.
  • Relevant experience in developing construction work packages associated with industrial control systems.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with designing control systems, panel layouts, equipment schematics
  • Understanding of Industrial network and controls systems
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English

TRAVEL

  • Light to moderate, site visits in Canada
  • Occasional on-site support
  • On-site project scoping and/or commissioning

WORK PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Most work is performed in a professional office. Required to walk, sit and while on site to stand for moderate periods of time, climb
