Design Group Staffing Oakville is currently recruiting for a Inspection Advisor for our client, a oil and gas company located in the Nanticoke, ON area.  This is a contract opportunity estimated to be about 1 year in length.  The Inspector is to monitor inspection activities during the design and construction phase of construction projects.  Ensuring that the facilities are in compliance with applicable codes, standards and procedures.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review mechanical drawings for compliance to codes, standards, procedures and job specifications
  • Co-ordinate and monitor the execution of mechanical work in progress in accordance with the manufacturer's/contractor's Quality Control (QC) Plan developed for the job
  • Co-ordinate, monitor, witness, and evaluate the execution of testing activities as required by the QC Plan (These activities include non-destructive examination (NDE), hydrostatic testing, and positive material identification (PMI)
  • Review and approve bid specification packages and QC Plans (This includes evaluating compliance with applicable codes and standards, as well as specific requirements of the job. These requirements include paint, insulation, civil, and NDE)
  • Conduct welding/fabrication quality control activities in accordance with the Welding Quality Assurance Manual/NPQC Manual
  • Function as in-plant contact for outside shop inspection and co-ordination of outside fabrication work
  • Provide inspection documentation as required by the scope of the work (This includes turnaround reports, project inspection summaries, or other documentation as applicable)
  • Ensure compliance with design specification requirements in relation to installation of inspection ports, as built thickness measurements, isometric drawings, etc.
  • Compile baseline inspection data and records to ensure that the appropriate equipment files are established per FEQA Section 8.2
  • Review/audit contract personnel qualification requirements as required by FEQA Section 3.4, Contract Inspection Personnel, and FEQA Section 3.5, Maintenance Contractor's Inspection Personnel, of this manual
  • Maintain a log of non-conformances (including the corrective action status) identified during the project
  • Document all deviations from codes, standards, or job specifications
  • Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) and associated HAZOP review
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience in executing project construction or quality assurance/ control of procurement or construction activities.
  • 10+ years experience in inspection
  • Manufacturing, fabrication, or construction experience related to scope of project
  • API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection Code
  • API 570 Piping Inspection Code
