With engineered steel bar producing capabilities in North America, Europe, Brazil, and soon to be India, the Gerdau Special Steel group is the largest supplier of SBQ engineered steel bars to the global automotive and heavy truck industries.

To inspect, install, repair, replace, adjust all mechanical equipment in the plant.

 Receives instructions, prints or work orders, covering scheduled and emergency repairs, installation and inspection work to be done

Determines best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production
Advises when immediate shut down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect
Dismantles, cleans, repairs, inspects, replaces, maintains, assembles, lubricates and tests mechanical, lubricating, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
Perform Tradesman's work involving a high degree of precision or variety of detail.
Assembles or aligns gears, bearings & shafts, involving press, sliding & running fits, aligns pumps, motors, turbines & gear reducers
Responsible for performing assigned maintenance work on large and small producing units
Operate power driven mobile equipment and ordinary crane hooking.  Prevents damage to light mobile equipment such as tractors, trucks and light cranes



Job Requirements

Required:

High school Diploma or GED
Certificate of Qualification
*Red Seal Certification can be used as a substitute for a HS Diploma or GED
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
