Classification: Human Resources (HR) Assistant

Compensation: DOE

What you get to do every single day

- Handle WSIB/health and safety claims

- Extensive full-cycle recruitment

- Participate in new employee orientation meetings

- Manage a number of administrative duties

- Update employee database logs

- Participate in an HRIS transition

- Partake in labour management

- Intake and process grievances

- Research and process employee training programs

- Develop training materials

- Provide input to managers regarding performance management

- Backup the payroll department
Job Requirements
- Previous experience with WSIB/health and safety and claims management

- A passion for recruitment

- An understanding of the not-for-profit industry

- Previous HRIS implementation experience would be a strong asset

- Experience in a unionized environment would be an asset

- A high level of EQ

- Conflict resolution skills

- Self-motivated

- Solid understanding of Onboarding

- Knowledge of personnel file maintenance

- Strong communication and social skills

- Highly professional and able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity

- Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects

- At least 3+ years of HR related experience desired
