Classification: Personnel/HR Supervisor/Mgr

Compensation: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year

We are looking for an efficient Human Resources (HR) Generalist to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. You will facilitate daily HR functions like keeping track of employees records and supporting the interview process. Your role, also, involves performing tasks with a focus to grow our company?s talent pipeline and improve our sourcing tactics.

The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources as well as general administrative responsibilities. He/She will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of HR projects and operations. To succeed in this role, you should be familiar using HR software and tools.

Ultimately, you should be able to contribute to the attainment of specific goals and results of the HR department and the organization.

Responsibilities * Go-to person for day to day HR functions * Health Dental Benefits Administration * Assist with coordination of employee education re: Benefits RRSP as required * Handle Employee LTD Claims * Consult and work with labour lawyers when required to resolve issues * Establish Employee files in Eclipse software system and maintain/update employee files * Develop formal onboarding process, handle new full-time paperwork onboarding process * Employment Contracts (develop and execute) * Resolving employee grievances * Handle violence and harassment claims/investigations * Recruitment Strategies (i.e. recruitment opportunities like job fairs, or establishing relationships with local post-secondary schools to recruit entry level talent with potential and/or other partnership opportunities to assist with recruitment (i.e job fairs) * Oversee and be involved in hiring process, which includes coordinating job posts, reviewing resumes, and performing reference checks, participating in job interviews * Involvement in employee performance management * Participating in employee coaching and progressive discipline as needed and/or advising managers on same * Participate in Exit Interviews * Policy development/updating as necessary with regular review for legislative compliance * Employee Attendance (manage and assist managers with employee attendance issues) * Assist in updating and revising employee handbook * First point of contact for employee requests (i.e. employment letters) * Participate in coordination of Employee surveys * Participate in Customer surveys as required * Participate in planning coordination of employee engagement initiatives * Involvement in publishing of Employee Newsletter * Company Social Media Involvement as required * Participate in website development committee * Training Development * Input into Succession Planning * Look for cost management opportunities within the HR area (i.e supporting management to explore and capitalize on training opportunities offered by the unions, organizations we are members of, etc, grant/rebate opportunities related to training/recruiting, coop positions etc) * Support/Assistance with change management as needed (i.e. electronic payroll implementation)

Job Requirements
*Proven experience as an HR coordinator, HR Generalist or relevant human resources/administrative position 3-5 years *Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices *Strong ability in using Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint, in particular) *Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems (e.g. Virtual Edge) *In-depth understanding of sourcing tools, like resume databases and online communities *Familiarity with social media recruiting *Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills *Ability to handle data with confidentiality *Good organizational and time management skills *BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; additional education in Human Resource Management will be a plus *Union experience a bonus
