Design Group Staffing Vancouver is recruiting for a Heavy-Duty Mechanic.  Our client; an industry leader in piling and deep foundation services are poised for for steady growth and are looking to add a Heavy Duty Mechanic and/or apprentice. Located in Langley this company offers a competitive wage, RRSP contributions and a steady workload. 

Responsibilities:  The main responsibility of this position is to provide preventative maintenance, repairs and servicing for their fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment.  This is an ideal role for an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic looking for an opportunity to be part of a growing team or an emerging apprentice looking for mentor-ship. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse fleet of equipment primarily in a shop environment but will occasionally be required to visit site. Equipment Management • Diagnosis, repair and maintenance of equipment • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications • Develop and then follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems • Conduct inspections as part of ongoing and preventative maintenance programs • Prepare inspection, maintenance, work reports and record details • Clean, lubricate and maintain all equipment, as scheduled and required • Work with the Equipment Manager, Superintendents and Foreman to ensure as much up-time and utilization of equipment as possible Requirements: • Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic trade certification, or apprenticing toward such • Minimum 5+ years’ experience working on heavy equipment • Prior experience in working with diesel equipment, drilling rigs, loaders and excavators • Valid B.C. Driver’s License The individual chosen for this role will be highly creative, professional, hardworking, achievement focused, analytical and organized.  Strong attention to detail, planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.  All candidates must be able to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
