We’re looking for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor to join the Pre-Con team at our Brampton facility for a contract term.  


Our Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor is a hands-on roel that supports our operations in the Precast market in Ontario and Pre-Con’s goal of being amongst the safest places to work in our industry, by providing guidance and collaborating on Health, Safety & Environmental initiatives.

This role reports directly to the Vice President/General Manager and supports the HSE in Manufacturing and Construction operations.

This is a contract role for approximately 6 months, with possible extensions.

Position Details

  • Promote Pre-Con’s Zero Incident safety vision!

  • Contribute to the overall corporate and business unit Health, Safety and Environment strategy.

  • Facilitate the development and review of annual Health, Safety and Environment improvement plans; and supports implementation of the plans. 

  • Facilitate or supports high severity / high potential incident notification, investigation, analysis, reporting, communication and response. 

  • Monitor and assesses the quality of incident information and conformance to objectives and standards. 

  • Monitor and/or supports Workers’ Compensation processes. 

  • Facilitate implementation of the Health, Safety and Environmental management systems. 

  • Facilitate evaluation, development and implementation of Market Area operational Health, Safety and Environment programs and processes in alignment with relevant Corporate standards. 

  • Validate the adequacy of Health, Safety and Environment programs and processes in alignment with relevant corporate standards. 

  • Assess and supports the Health, Safety and Environment management competency needs of Market Area personnel. 

  • Advise and coach Market Area Leaders and employees about relevant legal and technological developments, standards, methods and practices related to Health, Safety and Environment management. 

  • Facilitate and/or supports hazard identification and risk assessment analyses of hazardous work activities and action planning for the Market Area. 

  • Review and validates the quality of risk assessment analysis, findings and the suitability of corrective and preventive actions. 

  • Facilitate, analyzes and reports the results of Health, Safety and Environment al inspections, assessments and audits to identify gaps and trends. 

  • Analyze, interprets and provides quality reports and presentations that communicate valid and comprehensive recommendations for Health, Safety and Environment controls.

  • Facilitate Health, Safety and Environment governmental reporting. 

  • Ensure the effectiveness of:

    • Emergency preparedness processes. 

    • Contractor health and safety management. 

    • Joint Health and Safety Committees; and

  • Other HSE duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • A Great Attitude!

  • Five (5) or more years of relevant Health, Safety and Environment experience. 

  • Three (3) plus years managing, developing and integrating health, safety or environment programs in a manufacturing and/or construction environment.

  • Completion of Health and Safety or Environment degree; or equivalent combination of technical education and relevant work experience.

  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or in progress. 

  • Solid working knowledge of OHSA standards, Safe At Work, Ontario program and industry codes of practice.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and construction operations, processes and applicable Health and Safety or Environment hazards and controls.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Proven time-management, planning and organizational skills. 


  • Pre-cast industry experience.
