Talentcor Edmonton is hiring for a Formulation Chemist for 4 month Contract !

  • Assist in designing, planning and executing all aspects of assigned projects independently through scientific rationale to assist in development of new products per departmental SOPs and guidelines. Experience in the development of surfactant based consumer products, automotive fluids and engine coolants is a definite asset.
  • Apply formulation and problem-solving skills and utilize all available resources to identify process and /or formulation deficiencies and be proactive in implementation of solutions.
  • Perform analysis and collect data of raw materials, in process, finished products and stability samples, review and discuss conclusions with manager regarding progress of work and effectively communication information to peers and management in form of presentations and reports as required.
  • Compile all data obtained from testing an observations and complete report summaries.
  • Must have some mechanical ability and analytical capability as it applies to running any required ASTM tests.
  • Working experience with the following general lab tests including but not limited to gas chromatography (GC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Ion chromatography (IC), inductive coupled plasma (ICP) as well as wet chemistry tests (pH, water content, freezing point etc. is preferred.
  • Work as an effective team member to meet departmental and corporate goals sharing knowledge with team members and across the organization.
  • Support all Alberta Environmental, Health & Safety policies and guidelines.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned

  • Canadian equivalent to Bachelors or Masters of Science degree preferably in Chemistry or related degree.
  • More than 5 years of relevant hands on experience in product development with working knowledge and experience in formulation development. Knowledge in Analytical Chemistry is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Highly motivated and have the skills to handle multiple projects and prioritize work.
  • Posses technical knowledge and understanding of laboratory equipment and processes
