Job Description


Large custom manufacturing which Rywick has represented for over 4 years is growing again and has asked Rywick to find two well experienced Engineering Designers.  This highly creative client designs and manufacturers in-house retail fixtures, displays, and interiors for some of North America’s larger retailers and QSRs.  You probably visited one of the clients you would work with this week!

Two roles available – Senior as well as Junior.
  Location of these roles are outside the GTA so would work for any professional who can travel north of Mississauga/Concord.


  • Design and detail store fixtures using SolidWorks with information from internal teams or via the final client directly
  • Work with Project Manager to ensure all client/project requirements are met
  • Establish electronic files and track revisions/change orders
  • Work with production and estimating teams to assist with fabrication concerns, milestones or material requirements/sources
  • Produce in a timely manner – accurate range of drawings – 2D/3D
  • May need to assist with BOM/project take-offs, etc.
  • Transfer drawings to CNC team

Job Requirements


  • Experience designing and producing range of project drawings – 2D/3D using SolidWorks.  For the Senior role at least 5 years direct project experience and for the Junior role at least 1-year project experience
  • Very strong software skills:  SolidWorks with 2D and 3D. MS Office, software related to file transfer to CNC teams
  • Experience working with range of materials: millwork (must have), plastics, metal, glass, acrylics, etc.
  • Understanding of the fabrication process – be able to work with Production Teams to help problem solve or answer manufacturing questions
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written. Be able to work with a range of professionals from final client to skilled production team members.
  • Experience working with final client and or their teams
  • Be self-managing and have a high level of time management skill to ensure drawings and requests are handled in a timely manner
  • Attention to detail to produce accurate drawings
  • Be able to work additional hours as required to ensure deadlines are met
  • High level of organization skills  – able to manage project files electronically – track project changes to guarantee all members of the project team are aware of the changes
