Electronics Designer

Manpower is currently looking for an Electronics Designer to fill a permanent position with our client in the communications industry in Calgary, Alberta.

* Work in a team environment which includes Mechanical Design, Documentation, Quality, Production, Sourcing, Sales and Marketing
* Design electronic circuits of in-house products. Design focus is a mix of analog and digital design, working with microprocessors, audio amplifiers, etc. RF Technology is not a required core competency
* Maintain and apply regulatory standards towards product designs (HAZLOC, ATEX, IECEX, etc.)
* Generate circuit board layouts
* Generate and maintain product firmware
* Assemble and/or assist in the assembly of prototypes and pre-production samples
* Specify, document, number and assist with the sourcing of components
* Assist with the design of production test and assembly equipment as required
* Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
* Some travel may be required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or Certificate in Electronics Technology with relevant experience
* 5 years of experience in a design/development role
* Knowledge of C, C# or other programming languages is required
* Knowledge of telephone, PBX and related technology is considered an asset
* Knowledge of Solidworks PCB (based on Altium) is considered an asset
* Understanding and experience with regulatory for HAZLOC or IECEX is considered an asset
* Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
