Compensation: $85000.00 to $90000.00 yearly

Robert Half Technology is searching for a Programmer Analyst with a passion for formulating and defining systems scope and objectives and with knowledge about software and applications programming and industry requirements. Using research and fact-finding, you will recommend developments and modifications for applications or databases. Apply now for this full-time Programmer Analyst position in Cambridge, Ontario.

Major responsibilities

- Creates and updates dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst

- Examines user requests for changes or improvements to systems. Writes functional requirements and assesses cost, feasibility and utility. Makes recommendations about how, when or whether to make the changes

- Aids in creating communication materials for certain system changes being implemented in production

- Assists internal clients with applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting programming problems. Provides consultation that can include troubleshooting and/or education

- Analyzes and records issues, collaborating with other programmers to fix code problems

- Assesses processing systems. Builds improvement recommendations

- Create and test programming changes for every systems development phase prior to implementation. Write test cases and expected outcomes. Review results and verify that requirements are met. May develop simple tests or a defined subset of larger tests. May recommend acceptance/rejection if requirements are not all met

- Provides end users and other partner groups with continuing training and assistance for a specific application, system or

- Previous experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements

- Comprehension of PC and mainframe hardware/software

- Demonstrated grasp of programming languages

- Solid understanding of EDI

- Expertise in PL/SQL

- Essential project management skills, including project planning and tracking principles; project risk and issues identification, assessment, tracking, and mitigation

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
