Compensation: DOE

Our client, who is currently operating 10 business units, one of which is a tax litigation practice and a CRA dispute resolution firm that serves both corporate and personal taxpayers across Canada is looking for a Director of Tax Law who will be responsible for the management of their litigation team.

Position: Director of Tax Law Location: North York, ON Salary: DOE Benefits: Profit Share + 100% Benefits + Vacation

Responsibilities:

? Lead the legal practice which includes training and supervising tax associates and articling students ? Build new and expand existing client relationships and demonstrate deep knowledge of client?s businesses ? Conduct consultations with potential and existing clients ? Respond to federal and provincial audits, prepare voluntary disclosures, and advise clients on the tax dispute resolution process ? Prepare notices of objection and written representations to the federal and provincial tax appeals divisions ? Conduct litigation of tax appeals before various federal and provincial courts ? Provide legal opinions with respect to the tax consequences of transactions, as well as litigation risk ? Be dedicated to providing quality service to clients to consistently meet and exceed expectations ? Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Qualifications:

? 5-10 years of tax litigation and controversy experience, management experience and experience in client services. ? Law Degree from a Canadian Law School ? Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario ? Strong verbal and written communication skills ? A high level of motivation, strong work ethic and self-starting attitude
