Robert Half Technology is looking for a talented Desktop Support Technician who is able to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users in an easily understandable and concise format. If you are a problem solver who enjoys working in a challenging and positive environment, this may be the Desktop Support Technician position for you. Located in the Mississauga, Ontario, area, this Desktop Support Analyst role is long-term in nature.

Your responsibilities
*Handles Help Desk tickets and requests received through escalations from others in IT or through Global Remedy system, email, phone or walkup using established processes.
*Self-monitors Help Desk tickets to ensure that proper escalation and resolution of incidents is consistent with the agreed SLA’s and where possible documented solutions.
*Organizes and utilizes all support resources provided including emails, documentation, contact lists, etc.
*Follows established Asset Management processes.
*Performs IMAC (Install, Moves, Adds, Changes) - related tasks as assigned
*Maintains and administers local IT systems in line with local, regional and corporate standards. Keeps up-to-date with corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and build documentation.
*Collaborates with global and regional IT teams to resolve issues, minimize risk and ensure consistency.
*Ensures services provided by external parties (vendors, regional IT, global IT) meet desired outcomes and service levels. Recommends continuous improvements to systems and processes.
*Proactively identifies gaps in end-user understanding of systems and processes and recommends IT training.
*Maintains IT system and process technical documentation. Posts documentation to shared drive and on IT Intranet for team use.
*Provides knowledge transfer and mentoring to other team members when required.

Job Requirements
*2-3 years related work experience in a large size organization. Previous Pharmaceutical industry experience would be nice to have.
*Minimum 12-18 months experience in a customer service support environment
*Strong understanding of an array of computer equipment, peripherals, mobile devices as well as standard software applications (MS Office 2010/O365, Windows 7/10, VPN client software (Cisco AnyConnect), Remote Desktop tools, Active Directory, Server Administration, Remedy, SCCM, AirWatch)
*Knowledge of client application support as well application functionalities
*Knowledge of software deployment scripting languages, such as SMS installer, WISE, PowerShell, etc.
*Previous experience working with international IT groups a plus
*Experience with troubleshooting and supporting mobile technology such as iPhones and iPads
