Customs Coordinator
Job Description

Major Responsibilities
* Consistently ensure proper import /export regulations are followed

* Research Country of origin (COO), net costing (NC), manufacturers affidavit (MA), automobile labeling act (AALA) for parts database

* Maintain all records for compliance retention

* Ensure customs compliance regulations are followed

* Work in conjunction with Customer, Vendors and Canada/US Customs to procure documents and meet import /export criteria

* Complete refunds and submission for drawback VAT taxes and duty with Canada/US Customs

* Work with outsourced vendors to provide imports "assists" for Canada/US Customs

* Source HTS Classification codes for all exported parts

* Update NAFTA documents from both the Vendor and Customer annually

* Verify NVOCC's with arrival notices/ export declarations.

* Work closely with Logistics/Shipping & Receiving to ensure supply chain accuracy and movement cross-border

* All other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Education
Grade 12 education/equivalent required, plus one of the following; 3 year Technologist diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, a University degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience
Two years' minimum experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Environment would be an asset.

Skills and Competencies
*Excellent interpersonal skills. The role requires working with all disciplines within Autosystems as well as external suppliers.

*Ability to communicate technically to various departments within the organization and to external suppliers.

*Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD or similar design software.

*Proficient reading design drawings and blue prints, including a basic knowledge of GD&T.

*Able to work flexible work hours, including unscheduled overtime when necessary.

*The successful candidate must possess a valid driver's license. Must also be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Work Environment
Ability to move around on the production floor; Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach. Required to carry out job duties and responsibilities in a work environment that may include, but is not limited to, varying levels of noise and/or temperature. Ability to lift max. 50lbs periodically.
