If you want to work for a successful company, Robert Half Finance has an opportunity for a Controller to take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department. The full-time Controller position is situated in the Vancouver, British Columbia area. In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. In this role, it will be critical for you to effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. What you get to do every day: - Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction - Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners - Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities - Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required - Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash - Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts - Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time - Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis - Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Job Requirements
Requirements: - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field and experience managing a sizable team in a manufacturing or retail environment. - Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus - Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required - Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing - Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks - Compliance experience desired - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred - Prior work done in public accounting is desired - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines If you are interested in applying to this role, please send your resume to Stella Tang at [Click Here to Email Your Resume], quoting job number 05060-0010711586.
