A current opening through Robert Half Finance, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent manufacturing company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over the accounting department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. What you get to do every day

• Manages the processes of accounting information and finances under the direction of VP of Finance and Administration
• Oversee all activities pertaining to the generation of financial statements
• Issue reports and financial statements
• Maintain an accounting filing system and system of control over accounting transactions
• Oversees Accounts Payable ensuring accounts are paid in a timely manner while maintaining vendor relationships.
• Coordinate the provision of information to head office and auditors
• Oversees Accounts Receivable and credit department to ensure that proper controls and procedures are implemented and followed
• Compile financial budget information to ensure that all relevant schedules are completed in a timely and accurately.
• Compile Annual insurance renewal information to ensure all relevant schedules are completed with most recent information and accurately reflect the company’s financial position.
• Recommend Improvements relating to accounting with a focus on compliance, controls, quality and with consideration of cost-effective strategies; with quality, people and safety as a top priority.
• Propose changes including communication and ensuring overall results and desired impact
Job Requirements
As the Controller, you will bring with you experience in the following areas:

• Maintain close working relationships to create an efficient information channel
• Liaise between departments and external service providers to effectively provide relevant information
• Advise other teams of potential issues and use a cooperative approach to problem solving
• Provide knowledge and expertise relating to supply chain
• Assist with and support team projects as required
• Familiar with IFRS and ability to bring best of class initiatives to the organization
• Manage the required resources (people, equipment and technology) to meet needs and maintained cost effectively
• Communication and information is shared to enable well-informed and timely decision-making process
• Good supplier, customer and associate relations, including sharing feedback to look for opportunities to enhance
