CNC: Machine Operator

Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to

• Operate CNC Mills and Lathes in the production of standard and customized parts to critical tolerances • Ability to read blueprints and perform set up of machines according to diagram • Follow work order instructions to customer requirements • Validate quality of products using measurement devices • Record dimensions and highlight deviated dimensions • Understand and follow the policies and procedures of the Client's Quality Management System • Understand and follow the Health and Safety Management System Skills and Educational Requirements • A minimum of 5 years related experience in a steel processing or fabrication environment • Completion of an Apprenticeship program or equivalent experience • Ability to read and understand blue prints • Experience in the operation of Mazak, Mori Seiki or OKK machines an asset • Ability to read and understand G-Code or Mazatrol programming Other Attributes • Ability to work day and afternoon shifts as required • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the team • Take initiative to problem solve or troubleshoot and provide solutions

Physical Demands and Working Environment • Working within an manufacturing environment • Operation of various sized and heights of machinery • Operation of manual and CNC based machinery • Exposure to varying noise levels • Exposure to chemicals within a controlled environment • Working within an area of forklift and crane operation • Well lit and temperature controlled • Lifting up to 20 lbs manually • Assisted lifting over 10 lbs is available • Walking distances, as required to the shop floor • Occasional use of the computer
