We are working with a local merchant real estate developer to source a Civil Project Manager with an Earthworks and Utilities background. With over 30 years in the industry and business thriving, this company has built a reputation through their delivery of quality projects, whilst providing excellent customer service. As this role will be keenly focused on overseeing substantial projects, a track record of leading and executing large scale profitable projects is required.

About the Role

Working with the Chief Estimator, the Civil Project Manager is responsible for the overall forecasting, cost management, contingency planning, and securing the profitability for projects. This role works with the Estimating team, project coordinators, construction safety managers and operation managers, as the company encourages a collaborative team-based culture.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Working with the operations team from the start to closeout
  • Obtaining permits, licenses, and other project work related necessities throughout project
  • Provide direction leading up to award, including planning and estimating
  • Work with the estimating team to negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Manage the scope, schedule, budget and delivery of projects, as well as the monitoring of project performance against deadlines.
Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications such as Civil Engineering or Project Management
  • 5+ years’ experience in Civil Construction, with exposure to Earthwork and Underground Utilities
  • Knowledge of software such as Timberline, Bluebeam and Agtek is an asset
  • Solid understanding of union environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading and directing projects to achieving successful completion
