Job Description

CHARTER DRIVER

Location: Taber, Coaldale & Lethbridge Area

The Charter Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from various charter destinations. The driver must be committed to providing superior service, possess strong communication skills, and be self-motivated.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Class 1 or 2 driver's license
  • Knowledge of various types of equipment (transit, coach, and school bus)
  • Organized, punctual, and reliable
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability plan a safe route of travel
  • Excellent driving skills and habits
  • Map reading ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Commitment to excellence in customer service

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive safely, responsibly, and be prepared for all road conditions
  • Maintain radio contact and use proper radio protocol
  • Respect fellow employees, customers, and equipment
  • Conduct pre-and-post trip checks of the unit each time it is used
  • Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Manage passenger behavior by quickly and effectively solving problems
  • Communicate with dispatch at your scheduled time, prepared and ready to go
  • Maintain a clean bus
  • Drop off or pick up the bus when requested by Operations or Maintenance.
  • Ensure cleanliness of bus both pre & post

WORKING CONDITIONS: As scheduled by the charter department year round.

Drivers must follow the SOUTHLAND dress code, wear photo ID, be well groomed, and appropriately dressed for the season.
