We work in partnership with post-secondary academic institutions to help select people with competencies such as empathy, resiliency and communication skills into the programs that grow our future medical professionals and teachers in Canada, the US and as far away as Australia. Our platform, the CASPer test, integrates psychometric evaluations and tests containing situational, open-ended questions that don’t have a right or wrong answer. Using our rigorous, well-researched and tested assessments, combined with data-driven insights, we help determine what the chances are of students successfully completing a program, as well as how professional they will be. We work with over 100 academic institutions worldwide and have screened over 200,000 applicants to date.

Who we need

Reporting to our Business Development Lead, who grew into her role in just 11 months, we are adding a Business Development Representative (BDR) to our team to accelerate our growth. We need someone who wants to own and drive a pipeline of leads across diverse verticals; someone comfortable engaging prospective customers in Higher Education. We want people that are intentional with well-thought-out plans; someone who wants to be part of a team-based culture. We want someone who is ready to step up to the challenges of uncovering opportunities, overcoming objections and earning trust through relevant, productive conversations and knowledge sharing. We need a team player that will introduce and champion our CASPer test with highly respected, prominent institutions and academics; that knows how important it is at every step of the process to be respectful, genuine, informative and process improvement focused.

What problem are we trying to solve?

Academia is a sector where decisions are made under careful consideration: The issue of fair assessments that seek out the best in an applicant’s people skills is not always urgent to busy people administering admissions - when one cycle ends, another one starts, leaving little time to look at improving the process. Currently, most admissions processes are based solely on cognitive or academic factors, without taking into account the human side of applicants. We know that 95% of medico-legal complaints stem from issues of professionalism and bed-side manner, and only 5% are knowledge based. This is the problem we work towards solving every day.

Our new Business Development Representative has:

  • The education. Ideally, you have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • The experience. You have proven success in structured outbound prospecting where you've exceeded lead-generating quotas. You know the value of a well-maintained CRM.
  • The adaptability and the ownership. You are internally driven to achieve monthly goals. You are comfortable with ambiguity and you prefer change over the status-quo. We are growing quickly and you’ll be involved in fixing/expanding processes that will break!
  • The collaborative approach. You are curious and you have a scrappy "roll up your sleeves" approach to work. You can build relationships within and across teams. From one-on-one conversations to panel presentations, your communication skills are outstanding.
  • The dedication. You want to be part of a fantastic team that cares for each other and cares about the long term success of what we do. You hold yourself accountable as a key contributor to the team - and the organization.
  • The flexibility. You have a valid passport and you can travel internationally once every 3-4 months for conferences or the occasional client meeting.
