We are currently looking for a Bilingual Consumer Credit Supervisor to join our team in Mississauga, ON.

This role will be responsible for interacting with dealerships to render credit decision on complex credit issues referred by analyst or initiated by dealers. Reviewing reports to monitor productivity of the region and maintain established turnaround times. Communicating with field staff and regional manager as appropriate and contributes to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth.

Job functions Include but are not limited to:

  • Interacts with the dealer to render credit decisions on complex credit issues referred by the analyst or initiated by the dealers. Acts within pre-established credit authority.
  • Reviews reports to monitor the productivity of the region and ensure compliance with performance standards for response and decision time. Reviews silent monitoring and credit analyst application reviews.
  • Works with the field organization to build and maintains productive rapport with the dealer body.
  • Advises manager of daily activity and forwards any issues as appropriate.
  • Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development; interviews and selects unit employees; plans and evaluates employee performance; recommends merit increases, transfers and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time and attendance of subordinates.
  • As necessary, performs other related duties relating to commercial credit and supervise commercial credit staff when required.



Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree or College Diploma required (Study in Business, Finance, Economics preferred)
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Auto Finance including credit. Collections experience an asset. Minimum 2 years of team lead or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English, written and oral.
  • Intermediate level of experience with MS Software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively analyze, adjudicate and negotiate term of a credit decision. Requires ability to review and analyze financial statements for business application.
  • This position requires a wide variety of communication skills such as bilingualism, effective listening, advocacy, collaboration, diplomacy, negotiation and conflict resolution skills to explain policies and procedures as well as conditions of applications and declining applications.
  • Proven experience in handling complexity and being able to problem solve. Problems encountered in this position require effective listening, review and analysis to resolve.
