On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a BI Business Analyst for a 6 month contract in Edmonton, Alberta.

BI Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Our client is looking for a couple BI Business Analysts to support the ERP department primarily to work on a data migration project plus requisite reporting in the fast-paced cannabis industry.
  • The ideal candidate for this position is detail oriented, highly innovative, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Note that very strong communication skills are important for this role.
  • Ensure that the business goals of the project are met.
  • Illicit business rules and requirements
  • Process mapping
  • Hands-on validation throughout project phases.
  • Facilitation between technical and non-technical members
  • Documentation

BI Business Analyst Mandatory Skills

  • Large data migration experience is considered an asset.
  • Intermediate SQL skills. Non-negotiable.
  • Data profiling experience.
  • Experience capturing functional and non-functional requirements
  • Adept at translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Proven ability to deliver clear and concise documentation
  • Expert process mapping skills
  • Data mapping experience
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Proactive and self-motivated with experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
  • Experience with IT projects involving multi-disciplinary teams operating in a fast-paced, innovation driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Expert competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work against tight deadlines
  • Very good prioritization skills to balance key priorities
  • Data warehouse experience is an asset.

BI Business Analyst Desirable Skills

  • Cannabis, pharmaceutical or food and beverage industry knowledge
  • Previous ERP, CRM experience desired
  • General understanding of downstream financial implications of manufacturing processes
  • Experience with agile methodology and non-structured processes
  • Experience managing small projects, or exposure to the end to end project lifecycle, or managing substantial parts of the project lifecycle is beneficial
  • Familiar with project tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, JIRA, Smartsheets, LucidChart, BitBucket.
