Lucas Professional Search Group is currently working with a company in London, Ontario in their search for a Benefits Specialist.
Responsibilities include:
 
  • Assist in all areas of the Company benefits plans, including plan design, administration, record keeping, reviewing service agreements, communicating plan changes and premium negotiations
  • Administer benefits to decentralized locations including enrolling teammates in the benefits plan, retirement plans, filing of documents and terminating teammates’ benefits when required
  • Respond to teammates’ questions relating to the organization’s benefits and retirement plans
  • Administer the day to day activities on an active defined contribution pension plan and legacy defined benefit pension plans
  • Analyze, reconcile and submit monthly and biweekly benefits and retirement remittances
  • Administer disability claims management, including STD, LTD, WCB/WSIB/CSST and return to work
  • Prepare and review payroll adjustments as needed relating to the Company’s benefits and the defined contribution pension plan
 
Qualifications include:
 
  • University degree in HR or University Degree with a college diploma in HR
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the benefits and pension area
  • Sound knowledge of a flex benefits program
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with legislation and internal policies
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills
  • Knowledge of pension plan rules is an asset
  • Knowledge of Payroll is an asset
  • Experience with PeopleSoft is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Bilingualism would be a significant asset
