If you're a talented accounting manager seeking a new opportunity with a thriving company, consider a role through Robert Half Finance as a Manager, Accounting for a successful Manufacturing organization that will recognize your efforts. The Manager, Accounting plans and manages financial and accounting processes to ensure timely production of accurate financial statements. The individual will direct and manage the daily accounting activities of the assigned accounting team ensuring a high level of service to its customers. This individual will also take the lead for the implementation of process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities - Reviews work prepared by the head office Corporate Accountants in areas relating to fixed assets, sales and use taxes, government statutory filings, account reconciliations and other month-end and quarter-end transactions and reporting. Where required, prepare and recommend policies and procedures improvements. - Prepares and/or reviews various monthly journal entries of operating financial statements and quarterly consolidation of legal entity financial statements. - Prepares various monthly and quarterly reports for business leaders and the Board of Directors. Provides ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders. - Ensure preparation, approval and review of monthly account reconciliations to ensure integrity of the general ledger. - Provide cash flow analysis and forecasting, review of cash transactions, and manage bank transactional relationships. - Prepare budgeting documents, analysis of monthly financial results to budgets, and forecasts to enable the leaders to understand their business.
Job Requirements
- Post-secondary degree, certificate or diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting or related field required. - CA, CGA or CMA or other recognized accounting designation required. - Minimum 7 years of progressive responsible accounting experience required, preferably in a fast-paced accounting team. - Strong supervisory and leadership skills to align and motivate staff. Previous experience leading or mentoring other accounting professionals, or managing quality and service in a finance team, required. - Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff, peers, and other stakeholders in a team environment - Previous experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, would be a strong asset. - Previous manufacturing or distribution experience an asset. - Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Excel and solid skills in Microsoft Office. - Strong communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively. - Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and comfort with multiple deadlines. - Strong desire to learn new skills, improve processes, and continually develop existing skills and strengths.
