Accounting Clerk
Job Description

Our client in Stoufville is looking for a full-time, permanent Accounting Clerk to join their team. They are a well-established organization that’s been in business for over 25 years, and they offer many work perks, including an RRSP group plan and profit-sharing. Our client has many offices throughout North America, and there is opportunity for growth within the organization.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process customer invoicing in the ERP system, and verify payment details 
  • Investigate invoice discrepancies and respond to any customer inquiries
  • Double-check invoices to confirm that freight accruals are accounted for on each invoice
  • Cash applications to clear any outstanding invoices
  • Enter and code supplier invoices and expense reports in the ERP system
  • Batch and code supplier invoices and expense reports ensuring all postings are to correct GL account
  • Ensure all packing slips are matched to supplier invoices
  • Reconcile inventory receipts with supplier invoice and purchase order (3-way match)
  • Liaise with head office to coordinate wire transfers and to process weekly cheque run, then issue cheques to vendors
  • Responsible for regular review of AP aging report
  • Interact with suppliers as required
  • Process inventory transactions in the ERP system and make adjustment as needed
  • Assist colleagues with the organisation of physical inventory counts, produce inventory report and daily manufacturing reports
  • Responsible for review of daily reports to ensure standard costs are correctly applied
  • Assists with month-end including report generation, account reconciliations and accruals
  • Cross train with others in the department to provide backup as needed

Job Requirements


  • University Degree in Accounting, or a related field – candidates pursuing a CPA an asset
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience working in a project-based company is an asset
  • Strong computer skills -MS office
  • Previous experience in Accounts Payables an asset
