Overview

The Accountant role within the organization and Finance department is to perform accounting tasks and working cooperatively and collaboratively with all stakeholders, maximizing performance, and problem solving.  There will be a focus on proactively handling day to day operations of the business, financial statement preparation and with some analytic review as well as other ad hoc projects as necessary. This role will display ownership and learning abilities, and the initiative to work independently, with minimal daily direction to accomplish objectives and to meet timelines with quality output. This opportunity can accommodate full or part time schedules.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of financial records for operating companies.  Includes analyzing balance sheet, general ledgers and expense account for accuracy and anomalies.  Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules with identified and appropriate timelines.
  • Reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Management of cash balances and banking administration for companies within your accountability.
  • General ledger accounts reconciliations and review for accuracy and completeness (cash, liabilities, fixed assets, accruals).
  • Fixed asset tracking and amortization calculations.
  • Accounts payable of relevant entities.
  • Post and process appropriate journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements (accruals, amortization, prepaids etc.).
  • Inter-company reconciliations.
  • Audit preparation and support.
  • Accurate and timely accounts payable management.
  • Timely regulatory and payroll reporting.
  • Participation and contribution to organizational and departmental special projects as assigned
  • Cross training on billing / client side of finance

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with accounting and reporting systems (Quickbooks, Microsoft Office suite, Zuora etc.)
  • Detail oriented with focus for attention to detail.
  • Able to meet timelines on a consistent basis.
  • Analytical tendencies – must be able to identify anomalies and determine reasons and resolutions.
  • Accountability for the role, with the ability to grasp the scope of the role and how the day to day operations of the role fit into organizational big picture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service/stakeholder focus, that leads to building relationships and working relationships across functional lines.
  • Minimum 5+ years previous accounting experience.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Willingness to learn and upgrade knowledge by participating in educational opportunities across a wide variety of options.
  • Support of other team members as necessary.
