Lab Technician

Manpower is currently hiring Lab Technicians to fulfill a full-time contract position in Calgary, Alberta.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
* Preparing samples
* Analyzing data
* Reporting results using a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
* Perform physical tests on polyethylene film, molding resins and processed parts
* Contribute to continuous improvement of quality and reliability of test results
* Contribute to operation-related maintenance
* Housekeeping for the Physical Test Lab and testing equipment
* Develop new methods for new applications and new products
* May execute projects in collaboration with Technical Service Specialists

Qualifications and Requirements:
* Technical diploma in Plastics Technology, Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology or a related university degree (Materials, Mechanical)
* Previous experience working in the plastics industry would be considered an asset
* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot is required
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
* Must be comfortable to asking questions to clarify
* Must be able to receive and give feedback effectively
* Must work well in a team setting, with ability to work independently
* Applicant must be able to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced, priority-driven environment
