Charter Scheduler

Location: Calgary, AB

Southland Transportation is seeking a Charter Scheduler to join our team. This position is responsible for responding to the needs of charter customers and providing outstanding customer service. The Scheduler ensures the equitable distribution of charter assignments and equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule charters and review with the Charter Operations Manager
  • Answer phones, return messages, and respond to inquiries
  • Assist charter drivers with questions regarding pick-up/drop-off locations
  • Ensure staff rotation for charter assignments is in compliance with Hours of Service
  • Liaise with operations and fleet for scheduling of charter buses used in daily school operations
  • Prepare charter waybills for drivers in a timely manner
  • Call charter drivers to request or confirm details of the charter they are assigned
  • Attend regular charter meetings
  • Be available for on call rotation
  • Other duties, as assigned

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of Highway Traffic Acts and Regulations
  • Map reading ability with knowledge of the city, specifically road systems and attractions in and around Calgary
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professional conduct within a high volume environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of company policies/procedures and bus basics/operating procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal partners
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
