Our Vancouver client is wireless technology company with a 20-year history of innovation in the wireless space we have been first to market with many technology solutions for global customers. Currently looking to hire a US Tax Manager. Job Purpose/Summary: We have an opportunity for a US Manager, Tax to join our corporate head office and be part of a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. As a key member of the Finance team, you will be responsible for tax provision and compliance including corporate income taxes, sales and use tax, property tax, tax audits, and tax accounting matters affecting operations. You will also assist the tax team with day?to-day tax management, tax planning and execution. Key Accountabilities: Tax Accounting and Reporting: ? Prepare and review quarterly and year-end tax provisions for audited financial statements in accordance with US GAAP ? Prepare and review taxable income forecasts, tax notes and required reconciliations ? Prepare book to tax calculations and equivalent for the company ? Liaise with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits of regulatory financial statements Tax Compliance: ? Assist with tax compliance activities to ensure all necessary tax returns are prepared and filed in a timely matter ? Prepare and manage US and international tax compliance ? Prepare book to tax calculations and review tax returns ? Manage commodity tax returns including sales and use tax, personal property tax and other return returns as necessary ? Coordinate with tax service providers and local staff in foreign jurisdictions to manage compliance status, cash tax payments and facilitate the filings of foreign tax returns Tax Planning and Management: ? Manage and provide guidance to a team of tax professionals. ? Perform tax research and maintain a continuing awareness of developments and changes in tax laws and tax accounting guidance ? Participate in developing and implementing tax implications of business plans ? Assist with external and regulatory audits and examinations when needed and complete requested materials ? Analyze and prepare memos and reports on the tax effects of transactions
Job Requirements
Required Education, Experience and Competencies: ? Professional accounting designation required ? Knowledge and experience with US tax required ? Experience with accounting for income taxes is required ? 3 ? 5 years of experience as a tax practitioner in public practice or industry ? Proven ability to research and communicate technical tax issues clearly to business leaders and work effectively across all levels of internal process owners and external advisors ? Excellent communication, presentation and project management skills ? Strong work ethic with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines ? Strong proficiency with computer software including Excel, PowerPoint and Word ? Completion of the CICA In-depth Income Tax Courses preferred ?
