Are you a Mechanical Engineering Designer or Mechanical Engineering Project Manager with 7+ years of experience with buildings consulting engineering? Look no further, as Design Group Vancouver is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer on behalf of our client, an established MEP consultancy over 10 branches in Western Canada, to be based in White Horse for a full time, permanent role.   

They've just won a 3 year government grant that ensures they get first right of refusal on major government initiatives during that time and would like to ride their momentum and further establish their operations in Western Canada.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in a vibrant project situation, it'll be a warm desk working on a mutlitude of projects with the Yukon Government.  

Responsibilities:

    •  Work with the Team lead/ Project Manager/ Engineering Manager in providing our           clients with finished projects in a timely manner.
    • Implement the design concept through the preparation and production of drawings and schematics of mechanical systems for healthcare, hospitality, commercial, institutional, residential, public and private facilities
    • Reviewing architectural, interior designs and structural drawings
    • Working with contractors and responding to technical inquiries
    • Coordinating with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness
    • Working with project team and Project Manager to ensure on-time project completion
    • Working with contractors and responding to technical inquiries
    • Providing technical and administrative support through all phases of the project
    • With proven competency, prepare engineering design, specification and/or recommendations for a variety of the following:
      • HVAC
      • energy analysis
      • equipment selection and specification
      • fuel systems
      • high and low pressure piping
      • mechanical design details
      • plumbing
      • sustainable design
      • storm and sewer design


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering          
  •  P.Eng. Status or eligibility with APEY, 
  • Minimum 7 years relevant working experience
  • Background developing construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Familiar with bid and tendering process
