Job Description for Sr. Business Analyst – Digital Transformation

(this position could be either a Contract for 16 months or a Permanent hire)


Opportunity to be involved a Digital Transformation of a financial services company.  The situation is the client has selected a new API driven platform that will go live in spring of 2020.  Your task is to get in, learn how the business operates now with the existing platform(s) and figure out how the application will satisfy those operations (that was analyzed in an RFP and the selection was made) and ensure they work come go live.  Then be involved in converting 4 existing systems onto the new platform and then explore the ‘bells and whistles’ that come with the new platform to enhance business offerings.  Sound exciting?  You bet it does. Key Accountabilities:

• Lead the research, analysis, implementation, and maintenance of approved digital banking solutions; collaborates with business areas and stakeholders to ensure digital banking solutions are aligned to the digital banking roadmap and integrated into the organization effectively.

• Work with the Director, Digital Banking to ensure the digital banking systems and applications align with business requirements and the digital banking roadmap; identifies problem areas, risks, or areas of potential improvement and makes related recommendations.

• Establish, manage, and maintain relationships with vendors and business subject matter experts for digital banking including identifying digital banking system trends, escalating issues, and following resolution through to completion; acts as a liaison for communication between the digital banking vendors and internal departments/ stakeholders.

• Collaborate with the Manager, Quality Assurance and Project Management team to ensure new digital banking application integration or banking system enhancements meet functional requirements, compliance and interface specifications.

• Work with business representatives on defining successful adoption plans for digital banking related services.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, prioritize, validate, and document testable business requirements.

• Collaborate with the Strategy & Innovation research team in collection of member insights.

• Develop and maintain documents, workflow diagrams, processes and procedures, and training and resource material relating to digital banking solutions.

• Provide information to the IT team on digital banking trends and product awareness, ensuring continual compliance to organizational risk management policies, as well as standard digital banking methodologies.

• Act as a resource to other staff within the department.


Experience and/or Educational Requirements:

• 8-10 years of experience in information technology, business analysis and/or digital (banking or other financial) systems and software application knowledge.

• 1-3 years of experience working in transforming to a digital environment coordinating and planning the delivery of Digital solutions systems.  Non-banking environments will be considered.  

• Proven experience in a project-based work environment.

• Completed a relevant certificate, diploma, degree or designation program (IIBA or PMI based learning).

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

• Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines and mitigate business disruption.
