Design Group Staffing is currently searching for Logistics Advisor to work a 12 months contract in Fort McMurray for one of our large Oil and Gas Owner/Operator clients. Scope of Work: The successful candidate will be accountable for the safe and productive operation of shutdown and outages logistics requirements including material storage, kitting and staging, coordinating with contract companies, rental equipment as well as internal resources and will work closely with all branches. This position will be reporting to Outages foreman. Skills and Qualifications: • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or other Technical degree or Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is a minimum requirement • 10+ years’ experience in supply and logistics, preferably in international frontier operations • Experience working in Upstream Operations, preferably Drilling support activities and related materials, equipment and services. Knowledgeable of procedures and requirements and can incorporate them into working policies and procedures • Demonstrates strong planning, scheduling, coordination and administration skills. • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with Production, • Development, Projects, Drilling and Exploration; able to network effectively across organizations. • Behavioral Skills: adaptability, analytical capability, collaboration, effective communication, innovation • Functional Skills such as SSHE management - operations and maintenance, process planning and mechanical coordination, maintenance management, maintenance - mechanical, logistics, general marine operations Scope of Work Duties and Responsibilities: • Conduct initial in-country scouting trips to determine and assess logistical requirements • Supervises supply base/warehouse operations including movement of materials and equipment, personnel, supply vessels/trucks, and aircraft to maintain a consistent level of logistics and procurement support of international drilling activities • Primary contact with custom officials and freight forwarding companies for import/export clearance of materials and equipment. Maintains appropriate import/export records and required documentation for internal and regulatory requirements • Assists with contract tendering exercises for supply base/warehouse facilities, marine vessels, aviation (fixed and rotary wing), stevedoring, and custom-clearing agents • Providing high quality and timely support to meet day-to-day activities • Interfacing with Shutdown & Outages Teams, Operations, Execution, warehouse, staging, rental company and L&I teams to effectively optimize the utilization of manpower and equipment • Understanding and prioritizing activities to achieve required results in a dynamic and fast paced work environment • Leading and participating in all security, safety, health and environmental programs • Interface with procurement, requisitioning, Calgary and Site based planners • Effective communication and mentoring skills with the proven ability to coach and mentor various levels of staff • Strong planning and organization skills • Thorough knowledge of site operations and logistics, warehousing, tooling support and staging as well as trailer and wash car management/placement both individually and as a village • Intermediate computer skills and safe operations are essential • Valid Driver’s license and safe driving record How to Apply  • All interested applicants should send their resume and cover letter in MS Word to the attention of Sameer Moddin at [Click Here to Email Your Resume] • We thank all candidates for their interest; however, only those candidates chosen for an interview will be contacted.
