On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a Performance Test Analyst for a 9 months contract in Edmonton, AB.

Performance Test Analyst Responsibilities

  • As a Performance Test Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality test coverage following COE defined standards. 
    In this role, you will work within a team environment with other IS members and stakeholders to understand and participate in business requirements definition, technical designs, development, test execution, and tuning. 
    The Performance Test Analyst will participate in project activities to meet team, department, and corporate objectives. 
    You must have Performance Testing experience to develop the right test coverage and strong application tuning experience with an attitude focused on quality and analytical thinking. Must be able to build and troubleshoot automated test scripts. 
    Must be adaptable to changes, eager to learn and implement new technologies.

Performance Test Analyst Mandatory Skills

  • 4 to 7 years of work experience in Performance testing and experience tuning of applications & environments.
  • 1 to 2 years of work experience in writing custom code and develop scripts using C#, C++, and Java.
  • 1 to 2 years of work experience with Application Performance Monitoring tools using Dynatrace or App Dynamics or similar tool
  • 1 to 2 years of work experience with designing the performance testing approach for the simple to medium features.
  • Experience with load testing tools Microsoft Visual Studio C#, HPE LoadRunner, and Apache JMeter.
  • Must have hands on experience in writing scripting, creating and executing scenarios, collecting and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Strong experience in writing test script in performance testing tool for the web, API, JSON, ISO Messages, and Desktop based applications
  • Strong experience in designing test scenarios, and test scripts as per business requirements.
  • Experience in installing and configuring performance tools.
  • Must be able to execute test scenarios to meet non-functional requirements .
  • Must be able to create required test data and data loads for each performance test run.
  • Experience in maintain test artifacts and ensure they meet expectations.
  • Experience in writing SQL queries, query execution plans, and optimization techniques.
  • Communicate effectively across multiple teams/external vendors
  • Ensure the appropriate testing and monitoring tools/technologies are configured accordingly with the test objectives/project team requirements.
  • Knowledge of performance bottlenecks and end-to-end performance measures
  • Experience in conducting load tests in Cloud and VMWare environments.
  • Perform data/logs analysis when needed to analyze issues in Performance and/or Production environments.
  • Experience in analyzing data gathered from performance test runs and identify areas for potential performance improvements.
  • Ability to conduct troubleshooting in support of remediation efforts as required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Visio.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server, Azure DevOps, Splunk, Power BIand GitHub.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must be able to work within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • University, college or technical degree/diploma in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, IT or related field.

Performance Test Analyst Nice to Have Skills

  • ISTQB Performance Testing Certification required or equivalent testing experience.
  • Banking experience
