Solutions Architect

On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking an Solutions Architect for a Permanent engagement.

Solutions Architect Job Details:

Our valued client requires a Solutions Architect to facilitate the planning, evaluation, design, and evolution of technology solutions. Also provide leadership in setting and influencing future technology direction.

Solutions Architect Responsibilities:

Technology Planning:

  • Actively participate in the business and IT planning process.
  • Influence and raise awareness of the overall enterprise IT direction, and support the line of business’ ability to leverage this direction.
  • Help to create IT Systems Strategies and ensures technology is compliant with standards and architectural decisions.
  • Propose strategies which meet long-term business objectives by introducing innovation through technology.
  • Translate strategic requirements into a usable solution architecture, which will then be used to guide enterprise solution development and achieve consistency across the application and technology portfolio.
  • Analyze the current application environments to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and drives resolution for high priority technical risks and issues.
  • Analyze IT technologies and trends, while keeping abreast of business/industry.

Enterprise Architecture Liaison:

  • Collaborate with the enterprise architecture team and clearly communicate the realities and implications for application delivery.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of enterprise architecture concepts and determine practical approaches to implement and meet the business needs.
  • Participate with new development activities and ensure they are consistent and well integrated with the established enterprise architecture.

Project Consultation:

  • Support the project delivery process including the initial project proposal submission and facilitating conceptual design and high-level estimating processes.
  • Ensure that IT delivers based on business& technology strategies, priorities and budgets, while considering feasibly, stability, and resource/skillset availability.
  • Provide senior-level consultation and support to technology delivery teams on various tasks related to application integration or system development.
  • Advocate and identify the architecture principles and the architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of software, applications, and tools, new product standards, as well as, the design of standard production configurations.

Solutions Architect Must Have Skills:

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or a Master’s in Business.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive industry IT experience.
  • Proven experience in multiple disciplines related to the delivery of complex enterprise applications, such as technical architecture, application architecture, application development, system integration, development methodologies, testing, and deployment.

Solutions Architect Nice to Have Skills:

  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence through demonstrated leadership and collaboration.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and practical skills.
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of solution design alternatives and be able to recommend the optimal solution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms and to tailor communication to audience, mediate and facilitate communications between others, and communicate to all levels of management and customers.
