One of Robert Half Finance and Accounting clients is currently seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their team. As the Payroll Administrator, you will contribute in finalizing the accurate and timely production of payroll for employees. To succeed in this role, you should have the ability to communicate effectively and deliver strong internal customer service while working in a deadline-driven environment. How you will make an impact

- Create systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation and entering of pay data

- Cooperate with Human Resources, Information Technology, and other internal business partners to ensure security protocols for pay systems

- Explore payroll areas, pay practices related to ESA, and fringe benefit reporting to determine how those practices apply to advise management

- Warrant timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles

- Manage quarterly and year-end payroll reports

- Facilitate staff with general questions related to payroll, other pay related issues, wage deductions, PTO accruals, and fringe benefits

- Conduct regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger

- Fulfill current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and provincial income and social taxes and other required reporting

- Analyze data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence

- Administer voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities

Job Requirements

- 3+ years of payroll experience

- PCP or CPM favored

- Benefits payroll experience preferred

- Deep understanding of benefits administration

- Qualified in HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets

- Accomplished in processing liens, various withholdings, and garnishments
