Compensation: $90000.00 to $110000.00 yearly

One of Vancouver's highly respected real estate organizations is looking to add an Assistant Controller to the accounting team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will be a key addition to the accounting and finance team acting as a conduit between the operational and corporate accounting teams. If you are a strong, designated accountant with experience in the real estate and/or construction space, this could be a great opportunity for you. The primary responsibilities of the role would entail:

- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
- Preparation of working papers and liaising with external auditors
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting practices
- Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting
- Participate in cash flow projections and cash management
- Review development proformas
- Act as team lead for software upgrades and implementations
- Manage an accounting team, ensuring their development and job satisfaction

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate brings poise, maturity, and a high work ethic to this position. They are able to work independently and take pride in the level of detail their work includes. Additional, candidates should bring the following:

- CPA Designation
- Financial statement preparation experience required; preference is given to those with consolidated financial statement preparation
- Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
- Proficiency in Audit Workpapers
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cash management experience preferred
- Noteworthy accounting experience, including in the real estate and/or construction space
- Experience with Sage 300 would be ideal
- Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
