General Description of Role:


The candidate chosen for the role will be responsible for business development acquiring new sales and maintaining existing sales within the region, reporting to the Power Transmission Solutions Sales Manager or the Motor Solutions Manager. As part of our dynamic sales team, they will employ solution selling techniques to solve End User and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) problems daily.




  • Drive and achieve sales and profit goals
  • Develop and plan targets in line with national and regional sales strategies
  • Call on assigned accounts in region to drive sales growth, Distribution, OEM and End User-Channel partners
  • Identify new opportunities within the region and create a strategy to close new business
  • Deploy solution selling techniques to identify customer issues and work with them to create partnerships
  • Be aware of significant developments within the territory
  • Travel regularly throughout the territory to develop and maintain a good rapport with customers
  • Conduct yourself in accordance with corporate guidelines, policies and standards of professionalism
  • Utilize sales tools to help keep track and plan territory sales, and manage time effectively
  • Respond to customer requests on a timely basis 
  • Work with the Sourcing team to help maintain inventory levels for your region
  • Work with Marketing to ensure all customers are aware of new products, changes in company policies, and pricing
  • Attend trade shows, conventions and training courses as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:


  • Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer, CET, definite asset
  • Knowledge motors LV MV,gearing, conveyor technology, bearings, couplings and drive components an asset.
  • Will consider those selling mechanical components and services.
  • Experience selling through distribution an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Territory an asset
  • Self-motivated individual, enthusiastic, committed and adaptable with a drive for results
  • Excellent customer relationship skills with persuasive communication skills and selling style
  • Ability to be efficient in an independent environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CRM knowledge an asset
  • Full Canadian driver's license with a good driving record and credit history
  • Valid Passport – ability to travel to the U.S.
