GLS Canada provides a delivery service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is currently looking to hire a Dock Supervisor for our Night shift at our Brampton terminal.


Pay Rate: To be Negotiated

Shift: Midnight

Main Responsibilities:
  • Managing and supervising warehouse employees (coach, lift-truck operators, sorters, markers and brokers).
  • Upholding safety protocol at ALL times.
  • Building AM sortation team and ensuring team is engaged and successful.
  • Ensuring all dock is running effectively so all parcels are sorted in a timely manner and depart on time
  • Ensuring error-coding.
  • Validating and preparing daily production reports.
  • Preparing employee payroll; validating daily working hours.
  • Responsible for efficient operation of warehouse equipment and operation.
  • Ensuring minimal set-up for the AM team.


Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Using business intelligence tools to analyze and improve service
  • Implementing preventive measures relating to parcel handling.
  • Training lead hand and employees for transition purposes.
  • Operational problem-solving.
  • Ensuring proper warehouse maintenance by employees.
  • Meeting with employees regarding hiring or disciplinary measures.
  • Checking and responding to operational emails.
  • Attending meetings with the terminal Manager.
  • Meeting candidates interviewed for open positions.
  • Calculating productivity.
  • Justifying Misdirect parcels’ errors.
  • Validating and preparing production reports.
  • Meeting with lead-hand and PM crew.

Skill Requirements:
  • University or College degree
  • Training in freight handling
  • Must have small parcel sortation experience
  • Leadership
  • Good communication skills
  • Resourcefulness
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good knowledge for Microsoft Excel
  • 5  years experience in employee supervision
  • Warehousing experience
  • Flexible work schedule
  • 70% of the time working in a standing position in the warehouse


  • 30% of the time working with a computer
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions ie: extreme cold/heat
