This position is with IQVIA’s Privacy Analytics team in Ottawa, Canada. Career Opportunity – DevOps Engineer

Build, automate, deploy! Do you love DevOps? Here at Privacy Analytics (an IQVIA company), We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic DevOps engineer to join our product development team. This is a chance to join a growing team and organization We are growing quickly, and part of that growth requires us to operationalize and automate many of our source control, build and deployment processes. We are a very close team with big ambitions, so communication and collaboration are key to success in this role.



Responsibilities:

Work with the development team to roll out new build, deployment, testing and monitoring infrastructure. Take responsibility for design and maintaining a change management strategy using GitHub and/or BitBucket. Manage our Cloud infrastructure, monitoring, automating and guiding the team on usage Understand and actively promote good development pipeline practices Work with developers on automation/configuration management. Be a generalist who isn’t intimidated when required to learn new technology.

Skills:

The tasks are varied and complex, so the desired candidate needs to be able to change focus at a moment’s notice, pick up new technology on the fly, and become effective quickly. Understanding how to script, whether or not it is in Python, Perl, Ruby, or basic shell scripting, is critical to the role in order to take manual processes and automate them.Security is a top priority. Understanding security models and how to set them up is a critical part of the role.

Infrastructure (on-prem and cloud)

Maintain existing infrastructure and help evolve it with continuous improvements Outstanding communication skills are required. The ideal candidate will be able to explain complex concepts in clear and understandable terms. The will be pro-active with their messaging and ensure the entire team is aware of all ongoing developments. A great attitude and willingness to constantly learn is what we need, specifically someone who maintains a positive attitude and encourages the team to constantly improve. Technology you can expect to work with The ideal candidate will have experience with:

Linux & Windows Jenkins git VMWare Windows Domain admin Amazon AWS Spark cluster configuration and management Scripting using shell scripts / Python / Groovy DNS Azure DBA Skills with SQL Server and Oracle
