POSITION SUMMARYAs a Technical Sales Analyst you will be responsible for coordinating inputs to and preparing New Flyer’s proposals in response to sales opportunities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Reviews detailed customer specifications and works with Regional Sales Managers to obtain clear definition of customer needs and requirements.
- Acts as the primary contact with the customer during the bid or proposal preparation stage.
- Coordinates with work cells and functional teams to complete all tasks by the required due dates.
- Monitors completion of tasks and follows up as required.
- Works with New Flyer functional teams (engineering, service, operations, finance, legal, aftermarket) to develop solutions for gaps and customer needs.
- Prepares and submits Request for Approved Equals (and supporting documentation) when New Flyer needs to deviate technically and/or commercially in line with the agreed Bid or Option Strategy.
- Works with cross functional teams to finalize costing and develop pricing recommendations in line with the agreed Bid or Option Strategy.
- Prepares bid or proposal package elements and ensures that the proposal is submitted within established departmental guidelines.
- Creates bid documentation, consolidates input from functional teams and edits bid documentation, including (but not limited to)

- Contractual Documentation such as Federal certifications, bonding and insurance.
- Prepares all contract changes after initial bid submission including the submission of a best and final offer (BAFO), if necessary.
- Answers customer questions and follows up on open items related to technical definition.
- Participates in Pre-Production meetings as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
**** Travel WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- University degree in business or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting and contractual terms and conditions.
- Project management and coordination skill.
- Read and comprehend salient points of an RFP, IFB or contract.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work at a desk or work station.
- PC, mobile phone, projectors and photocopier.
- Ability to lift to but not limited to 25 LBS.
