Basic Functions

  • Respect Amcor Rigid Packaging primary focus that is to ensure the “Safety” of the employees.
  • Must follow Amcor’s policies and procedures to ensure good manufacturing practices are maintained as per company’s standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Production Schedule, as it relates to planned orders, unplanned forecast demand, forecast shortfalls, and production and inventory changes.  Using a combination of information from the system, as well as daily communications with the MRP Planner, Production, Customer Service and other applicable functions.  This individual schedules the plant daily to optimize adherence to required ship dates, as well as the most efficient utilization of facility resources includes employees, equipment and processes.  This individual schedules production and performs capacity planning activities.  Responsible for all pre-production planning to balance customer needs to the production schedule. In conjunction with Customer Service Department is responsible for inventory management.

 

  1. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABLILTIES:
  1. Planning/Scheduling of production based upon established lead times.  Managing day-to-day increases/decreases to the schedule through interface with purchasing, manufacturing, and customer service. Monitors and tracks production daily to evaluate scheduling requirements.
  2. Works closely with the Supply Chain and Customer Service to schedule the plant on a weekly basis, to optimize the ability of the facility to meet required finished good ship dates, utilizing equipment, processes and employees in the most efficient way possible.
  3. Works with Customer Service to resolve scheduling conflicts that arise.
  4. Alerts Operations, Purchasing Manager, and Customer Service when there are unresolved conflicts in the schedule, or when a possibility exists of disappointing a customer due to either foreseen or unforeseen circumstances.
  5. Coordinates the set-up of jobs through production personnel in a way, which avoids downtime, and maximizes facility throughput.
  6. Plans with Production, Plant Engineering/Maintenance and Operations Managers on the timing required for any special tooling, jigs or fixtures required for projects and to schedule preventive maintenance.
  7. Works closely with the Operations Managers to monitor and track both short-term / long-term plant capacities.
  8. Plans materials and equipment requirements necessary to meet all scheduled production.
  9. Responsible for reviewing the Daily scheduling as identified and requested.
  10. Responsible for requesting disposition of all materials in inventory and communicating disposition.
  11. Manages Inventory of all finished goods, including reconciliation, adjustments and determination of aged inventory.
     
  1. SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Keeps assigned work area clean, neat, organized and free from safety hazards.
  2. All other duties as assigned.
     
    Education, Experience and skills required
  1. REQUIRED
  1. SAP experience would be an asset
  2. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Strong computer skills.
  3. Must work well in a team environment.
  4. Must possess and exercise good judgment and decision making skills.
  5. Must possess a high attention to detail.
  6. Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to operate effectively under stressful conditions.
     
  1. QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 4 year degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum 5 years scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
