Design Release Engineer - Senior

  • Description:

    The future product Design Release Engineer ( "DRE ) for high voltage battery hardware and integration is responsible for the end to end management of the design and production release of one or more projects. Projects include the low and/or high voltage vehicle Battery, software and hardware integration for BSG, PHEV, and BEV vehicles released for NAFTA markets and has a support responsibility for supporting the Global Vehicle Safety & Compliance teams in all regions throughout APAC, EMEA, LATAM, and NAFTA (including Mexico and Canada).

    Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

    Develop program HVBS concepts that satisfy vehicle level functional objectives

    Coordinate ePT HVBS packaging activities with advanced concept engineering team

    Execute programs through PDP that meet or exceed objectives for performance, cost, weight, investment, and quality

    Develop and publish HVBS performance standards

    Author and submit source packages on time to support ePT product plans

    Develop system level DVP and coordinate component level DVP with Tier 1 supplier

    Execute design for manufacturing process and coordinate assembly process with manufacturing engineering

    Develop and execute energy storage system DFMEA for HVBS hardware

    Provide program deliverables on time per major development milestones

    Lead PDT meetings with Tier 1 suppliers

    Coordinate HVBS change management (CCD, CN, IAA, PER)

    Execute standardization plans and reuse of validated subcomponent

  • Requirements:

    Basic Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited/equivalent university
    Minimum of 5 years in product engineering design, development and/or testing
    Minimum of 5 years current design and release experience using the FCA releasing system
    Ability to review drawings and package studies in CAD
    Demonstrated experience source packages, specifications, DFMEA and DVP&R through the complete product cycle (from sourcing approval to serial production)
    Must have experience in one or more BICEEPR
    Experience in problem solving
    Strong technical research and writing skills
    Ability to work in a multicultural environment
    Self-starter
    Google Suite
    Strong Presentation Skills

    Preferred Requirements:

    Master's degree in Engineering or Business, as accredited by ABET or ABET equivalent.
    Experience in the full product life cycle
    Reactive and/or DFSS black belt
    Google Suite expertise
    Previous High Voltage battery design and release.
