Quality Engineer - PSP - EC1294

- Description:The Quality Engineer is responsible to ensure the company's products and processes meet established quality standards by identifying shortfalls, developing corrective measures, and implementing quality control systems. The successful Quality Engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills to ensure that processes and products consistently meet or exceed established quality standards. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Perform root cause analysis of quality issues to analyze quality performance utilizing statistical, analytical and advance problem solving tools
Recommend and implement cost-effective permanent corrective actions
Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure correlation
Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Suppliers to resolve issues that are not plant controllable
Manage engineering changes, working with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution
Conduct product evaluation requests to ensure robustness of product or process changes before full implementation
Recommend and validate rework procedures
Develop inspection procedures and best practices
- Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or applicable Technical Engineering Degree from an accredited university
2+ years practical experience in Automotive Engineering, Engineering Quality or Manufacturing Quality
Prior application and use of problem solving tools and statistics
Strong proficiency in MS Office applications & G-Suite tools
Ability to collect and synthesize data into meaningful information and communicate clearly to all levels of the organization
Must be self-motivated, results driven, able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent critical thinking and leadership skills
Positive communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills
May be required to drive a company vehicle valid driver's license & clean driving record required
May be required to travel Domestic & International (0-20%)
Additional Information / Must Have's:
1. Solid understanding of product and process development in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
2. Proficiency in root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action methodologies to quickly diagnose and resolve production and quality issues.
3. Ability to lead and coordinate a cross-functional engineering team responsible for product/process evolutions, supplier quality, and plant quality convergence.
- Minimum 1 year but 3 is preferred.
Remote Hybrid - 3 days in office with flexibility.
Will this position be required to drive a Stellantis vehicle during the assignment? Yes, to test vehicles and parts.
- Will they be on public roads or testing only onsite at facility. Normal driving on public roads.
Travel: 10-30%, depending on need.
Local plants Windsor / USA Detroit/Toledo area.
