Position Overview:

The Maintenance Planner will strengthen safe operations, enhance product quality, and increase efficiencies by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, material, and equipment access.  This position acts as liaison between Operations and Maintenance and is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all maintenance work performed within the facility. 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Respect Amcor Rigid Packaging’s primary focus, that is to ensure the Safety of all employees.
  • Create, maintain, and improve the Maintenance Planning process flow
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all required maintenance activities to create and publish a Master PM Plan for the facility to optimize and positively impact plant goals
  • Prepare proposals to be reviewed by plant management to include cost and time estimates, required material, and anticipated results
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to schedule resources in the most effective manner to meet production schedules
  • Work closely with Production Planners to optimize weekly changeovers, PM’s, and overhauls to meet daily production goals
  • Execute on approved proposals by writing applicable procedures, purchasing necessary parts, equipment, and services, working with the Stock Room team to kit PM materials, and following up on completed projects
  • Develop and measure key performance indicators, use root cause analysis tools to determine best practices, and maintain focus on continuous improvement
  • Create and develop metrics associated with on time job starts, machine down time, and overall equipment effectiveness to meet established facility goals
  • Maintain accuracy of SAP/CMMS systems, job histories, and technical information
  • Work with Operations team to create standard operating procedures, work instructions, and PM BOMs
  • Assist in driving continuous improvement, collaboration, and a lean manufacturing culture
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Education:  High School Diploma or GED   
  • 5 years of experience in an Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Materials role in a Manufacturing company
  • 3 years of experience in Maintenance or Operations Planning
  • 3 years MRP/ERP experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Travel 10%

***Preferred Qualifications***


  • Associates degree in a technical field
  • Hands-on experience working as Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a high speed/high volume manufacturing environment
  • Working Knowledge of SAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project



  • Reports to Maintenance Manager
  • Works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Production Planning, and Management teams
