Overview:
We are looking for an individual with a passion for retail who wishes to build their management skills. Reporting to the Store Owner, you will be involved in the day to day store operations. Your strong people skills in motivating, leading, engaging associates while working alongside with them will lead the store and team to success and bring our brand essence of FUN, SMART, SAVINGS to life!
Specific Accountabilities
Customer Service:
• Ensures a high level of customer service in all areas of the store;
• Resolves customer complaints quickly and professionally;
• Greets customers using the 11 foot rule;
• Responds to cashier calls in a timely manner;
• Resolves customer complaints quickly and professionally; and
• Ensure that shopping carts and baskets are available for customers at all times.
Supervisor:
• Recruits and pre-screens applicants;
• Completes and conducts 90 day and yearly performance reviews;
• Keyholder responsibility for opening and closing the store on a rotating basis; and
• Staff scheduling for assigned area(s).
Training and Communication:
• Encourages and maintains open communications with associates;
• Holds meetings with staff on a regular basis;
• Ensures all associates are trained on policies and procedures; and
• Communicates daily with the Store Owner/Manager with the view of improving overall efficiencies and standards throughout the store.
Buying Merchandising:
• Follows up on replenishment in assigned areas;
• Completes return sheets for both flyer and seasonal events, with input from associates;
• Reviews basic orders, to ensure proper quantities are being ordered, and completed in a timely manner;
• Reacts to hot selling items quickly, and communicates to Store Owner/Manager;
• Ensures that ad preparation, set up and take down is properly executed;
• Verifies that all planograms, labels, and signs are current and to standard;
• Ensures that all presentation standards are up to date;
• Maintains replenishment of all displays in assigned area: ends/sides/dump bins/clipstrips;
• Maintains and follow up on store recovery; and
• Checks pricing of competition and takes appropriate action when needed.
Inventory Management:
• Reviews all reports related to sales analysis and stock levels ensuring that inventory levels and type are appropriate to the needs of the store;
• Ensures markdowns and sku changes are properly implemented; and
• Limits inventory levels in the stockroom, to necessary product only.
Operations Brand Standards:
• Inspects the conditions of the equipment (i.e coolers, bunkers, refrigerated units) ensuring they are functional and clean at all times;
• Has a daily recovery and maintenance program in place;
• Maintains quality and controls for code dated product;
• Ensures a proper rotations of stock occurs daily; and
• Perform cycle counts as required.
Loss Prevention:
• Monitors all sales floor and checkout activity for possible Loss Prevention issues; and
• Reviews Loss Prevention reports and takes action when required.
Health Safety
• Responsible to ensure that machinery/equipment is safe, and that employees work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures. The job cannot be done unless it is done safely.
General:
• Performs other related duties assigned by the Store Owner/Manager.
