We are seeking a highly motivated Senior AI Engineer to join our Computational Sciences organization within Research and Early Development. Our team is at the forefront of leveraging artificial intelligence to accelerate drug discovery and target identification. We focus on cutting-edge technologies such as large-scale foundation models, multi-modal reasoning, and autonomous agent design, with a strong emphasis on scientific discovery, drug development, and complex decision-making pipelines.

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, evaluating, and deploying advanced AI systems. You will work on large language models (LLMs), multi-modal transformers, and agent-based systems, with a focus on evaluation, benchmarking, scaling, and deployment. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of AI scientists, engineers, and computational biologists/chemists in a research-driven environment. No prior experience in biology or chemistry is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, optimize, evaluate, and deploy state-of-the-art deep learning models, including large language models and multi-modal transformers.
  • Develop and scale model and data pipelines to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain deployed models to ensure they deliver the best possible results in real-world applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate innovative machine learning methods into impactful solutions for drug discovery and target identification.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, deep learning, and MLOps to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • Proven experience in deep learning, demonstrated through previous projects or publications.
  • Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
  • Hands-on experience with MLOps, model deployment (e.g., Triton, ONNX), and API-based AI systems.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed training and multi-GPU/cloud infrastructure (e.g., Ray, FSDP, DeepSpeed, TPU).
  • Passion for developing scalable, efficient, and well-documented software.
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and agent-based systems is a strong plus.
  • Prior experience in drug discovery or biomedical AI is not required but considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to take ownership of challenges and drive solutions from start to finish.
Why Join Us?
  • Work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment at the intersection of AI and life sciences.
  • Contribute to groundbreaking research that has the potential to transform drug discovery.
